How to get there from Hrušica:
From Hrušica, it’s only a 10–15 minute drive to the town of Jesenice. Once in Jesenice, follow the signs for Planina pod Golico and turn left towards the village of the same name. The road is paved and clearly marked. You can park near the church or a bit higher up and continue on foot along well-maintained hiking trails.
What to see:
In late spring, the mountain meadows above Jesenice are covered with millions of blooming wild white daffodils, known locally as "ključavnice". You can enjoy breathtaking views and floral landscapes on the trails toward Markl’s alpine pasture, Struška, or even hike up to the summit of Mount Golica (1835 m) for stunning panoramic views of the Karawanks and beyond.
When do the daffodils bloom:
The blooming season usually starts in early to mid-May, depending on the weather. The peak is typically between May 10th and 25th. It’s a good idea to check the current blooming status on local tourism websites or social media before your visit.
Visitor tips:
Visit in the morning or on weekdays to avoid crowds, as weekends can be very busy. Stick to marked trails, avoid stepping on meadows, and do not pick the flowers – wild daffodils are protected. We recommend proper hiking footwear, especially after rain when trails can be slippery.
